ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A woman was shot on a St. Louis County interstate Monday afternoon.
The shooting happened while the woman was driving on Interstate 170 near Olive Boulevard around 3:20 p.m.
St. Louis County police said the incident appears to be related to shots being fired between two other cars on the interstate. Both of those suspect vehicles have not been located, a spokesperson said. Officers believe the vehicles fled towards Interstate 64.
According to the Olivette Police Department, the woman suffered a life-threatening injury. The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis has been called in to investigate the shooting.
The southbound lanes were closed for several hours while police were on scene. The lanes were back open as of 7 p.m.
