Springfield police investigate fatal shooting at motel

Springfield police are investigating a fatal shooting Friday morning at a northside motel.

Jasmine Bailey, spokeswoman for the Springfield Police Department, said officers were dispatched to the Economy Inn on North Glenstone Avenue at about 8 a.m. where they found one man who had been shot to death.

As of 10 a.m., no arrests had been made in the case, but police were interviewing witnesses.

Police have not yet released the name of the deceased or what circumstances led up to the shooting.
