Jerry Ogle

Jerry Franklin Ogle made the journey to his permanent fishing hole on Sunday, November 15, 2020. He was surrounded by those who meant the most to him, his wife, Susie of 52 ½ years and his cherished family. Jerry spent his life always doing for others and making life better for those around him. He was an avid fisherman and even better at telling fish stories. He spent his early days hunting for quail with his beautiful English Setters, Molly and Snowball and looked forward to the times spent in the field with his sons.

Jerry spent 20+ years volunteering as a firefighter in Alba, Purcell, and Jasper. He was a past fire chief at Jasper and always worked to make sure everyone was well trained and prepared. Jerry worked at many jobs throughout his life, providing for his family. He was the caretaker of the Purcell Friends Cemetery for 30+ years. Jerry was an Air Force Veteran and a very proud American and he voted for Trump, twice.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Edna Ogle, 11 brothers and sisters, and his sweet granddaughter, Casey Marie and his great-grandchild, Little Peanut. He is survived by his wife of 52 ½ years, Susie, their three children, Christian James (Kristi), their children and grandchildren, Ivy Crook (Justin), Kaulin, Ellie and Kenzie; James Ogle (Katie), Zaiden, Archer, and Nash. Jerry Wayne, and his children and grandchildren, Kimberly Shankles (Levi), Brayleigh and Landon; Emily Garcia (Tommy), Sage. Crystal Darrow (Corey), Amanda Darrow (Alecia), and Rebecca D. and Orion. Jerry is also survived by his brother Fred and wife Linda Ogle (Texas) and some of his best friends, his nephews, Tom, John and Ralph, and numerous other nieces and nephews.

At Jerry’s request there will be no services. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City. Visit www.simpsonfh.com for online condolences.
