COLUMBUS, KANSAS: Peggy Guinn Martin, age 91, passed away at 2:59 pm, Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Chetopa Manor, Chetopa, KS following an illness.

Mrs Martin was born February 15, 1929 in Galena, KS. As a young girl, she moved to Chetopa, KS and has lived in Columbus the past 60 years.

She worked at her family business, Guinn Oil Company as a bookkeeper for 30 years. Later she worked as a retail clerk for the Crosslands in Columbus. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Columbus. In Chetopa, she was a member of a music group called Three Chicks and a Chunk. She liked to dance and had been a member of the Columbus Country Club.

Peggy was married to Virgil “Pepper” Martin on December 11, 1953 in Chetopa. He survives.

Additional survivors include one daughter, Vicki Graham, Columbus; three grandchildren, Ian Martin, Sabrina Johnson, and Eric Blundell; five great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, James Martin; her granddaughter, Lindsay Blundell, her brother, Jim Clopton and sister, Rosie Isom.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Friday, November 13, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church, Columbus, KS. Rev. Lindsey Clarke will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Derfelt Funeral Home, Columbus, Kansas.
