CARTHAGE, Mo. – November firearms season kicked off for many Missouri Hunters this weekend and that means processors like Cloud’s Meats in Carthage are extra busy.
Mike Cloud, owner of Cloud’s Meats, shared an image of the customer line stretching out to the road. He says this is the first time they’ve had to stop taking deer this early, cutting things off Sunday afternoon.
He says the deer are large and there are lots of them.
Cloud’s is only taking what they can safely refrigerate, but they are hoping to start taking more deer later on Monday, Nov. 16.
Once they hit about 1200 head, they’ll stop taking deer to focus on beef and pork customers.
