Rather than purchasing a box of holiday cards from a retail store, two nonprofit organizations are hoping folks will consider buying holiday cards featuring local artists’ work with the funds directly supporting their causes.
CASA of Southwest Missouri, an organization that trains community volunteers to assist the court in protecting the best interests of abused and neglected children, and Safe to Sleep, an overnight shelter for homeless women, are both selling holiday cards to raise funds.
Here’s information about each:
CASA of Southwest Missouri
Every year CASA invites children grades K-12 from all around the Ozarks to submit artwork to CASA, and the top entries are chosen to be printed onto cards. The cards are then sold to the public.
All the proceeds go directly to helping CASA provide trained volunteers to be a voice in court for, and more importantly, a friend to neglected and abused children all over southwest Missouri.
For this year’s holiday season, young artists from around the area have again donated their budding talent to help other children in need. By purchasing CASA’s holiday cards, you can help provide children with much needed support.
Discounts are offered for larger quantities.

Safe to Sleep
Each night, women who have no shelter find sanctuary in the Council of Churches’ Safe to Sleep temporary overnight shelter. They receive a cot, sleeping bag, shower, evening snack and morning breakfast in a drug- and alcohol-free environment. Volunteers welcome guests each night in an atmosphere of dignity, harmony and compassion.
And every year local artist Dianne Baum creates a beautiful new card to bless the women at Safe to Sleep. Proceeds benefit Safe to Sleep.
This year’s design is called, “Angel of Peace and Hope.” Printed inside: “May the Hope and Peace of Christmas fill you with joy.”
