WALKER, Mo. – COVID-19 is altering the way many veteran events are being held this year.

Students at Northeast Vernon County school came up with a new, safe way to show their appreciation for our nation’s heroes: taping digital thank-you’s.

Students also performed research on Veterans Day, putting together a special program they’ve shared online.

It’s not their usual big ceremony, but this display is important for these patriotic kids.Nevc Post

“We have a lot at our school who are veterans. Our counselor is, our history teacher, and several janitors that are veterans and they make a big impact on our school as well,” said Emma Bruce, a junior at NEVC.

The student thank-you’s will play in their 8th hour classes on Veterans Day.

We’ll also be airing them on our morning show on Nov. 11.
