Springfield police identify man killed in motorcycle crash

The Springfield Police Department has released the identity of a man who died Friday in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash.

Police say Sean Carter, 20, of Republic, died after he crashed his Yamaha motorcycle at about 3:30 a.m. near Chestnut Expressway and Highway 65.

According to a news release from the department, Carter lost control of his motorcycle while traveling along Chestnut Expressway and was ejected into a concrete barrier under the highway. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

So far, police have not been able to find any witnesses to the crash, and they’re asking anyone with information to contact the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810 or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 417-869-TIPS (8477).
