2 systems we’re watching
Our quick look at the Tropics shows 2 systems in progress that we continue to watch. In the Atlantic Basin, we have Hurricane Eta working deeper inland into Nicaragua as a Category 2 Hurricane. This hurricane peaked as a strong Category 4 Hurricane before making landfall yesterday. While it continues to weaken over land, it will continue to bring dangerous weather across parts of Central America before it shifts back into the Caribbean by Saturday. While this weakens into a depression on Thursday, this wants to regain tropical storm status by early next week before it wants to make a potential run for the Florida Peninsula. Over in the Pacific, Tropical Storm Odayls formed and is positioned 755 miles to the southwest of the Baja Peninsula. With the environment it’s in, it will start to weaken on Thursday as it continues to stay out in the open water.
