Three people were charged with murder Friday in connection with a recent homicide in Greene County.
Riley Collier, 25, Michael Stauffer, 40, and Patricia Davis, 18, were charged with murder in connection with the Oct. 20 killing of 39-year-old Stanley Simon.
Collier, who authorities believe shot Simon outside of Simon’s home in the 13000 block of West Farm Road 148, is facing the most serious charge of first-degree murder.
Stauffer and Davis were charged with second-degree murder under Missouri’s felony murder rule, with the premise being that they committed felonies (burglary) and Simon died as a result.
Court documents in the case indicate the defendants went to Simon’s home that night with the intention of stealing from him. After the homicide, they allegedly stole Simon’s truck in addition to a dirt bike and two chain saws.
Court documents say Stauffer waited in the car while while Collier and Davis burglarized Simon’s home.
Online records indicate all three defendants are in custody and they do not have defense attorneys listed for this case.
