Robert Dean “Bob” Pitman of Miami, OK passed from this life Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Integris Miami Hospital in Miami, OK. He was 89.

Bob was born September 26, 1931 in Boicourt, KS to Glenn and Mary (Abbiatti) Pitman. Bob grew up in the Bourbon County, Kansas area of Farlington, KS and graduated from Hepler High in Hepler, KS. He moved to Miami, OK in 1954. He served in the Army, doing basic training in El Paso, TX came back home to marry Dorothy Carpenter and they were married 39 years. He served during Korean Conflict but was stationed in Spokane, WA. Bob worked for Meadow Gold Milk Company for over 30 years before he retired, he then drove for Pelivan and was a bus driver for Miami Public School System. He also worked for Wal – Mart in Miami, OK in the Produce Department.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Pitman in 1992, 1 son-in-law Tom Kirksey, his parents and 2 brothers Lester Frank Pitman and Billy Ray Pitman.

Survivors include 2 sons Mike Pitman and wife Gayle of Branson, MO and Tim Pitman and wife Ginger of Miami, OK, 4 daughters Robin Kirksey of Miami, OK, Shelly Robertson and husband Rick of Quapaw, OK, Marcie Contreras and husband Martin of Joplin, MO and Kandy Pitman of Miami, OK, 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2020 at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, OK. Rev. Matt Robertson will officiate. Services have been placed in the care of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, OK. Online condolences may be made at www.paulthomasfuneralhomes.com.
