Aldi, the low-cost retailer that started as a mom-and-pop grocery in early 20th-century Germany, announced that its first store in Branson will open next month.
The store’s grand opening is slated for Nov. 5 at 1231 Branson Hills Parkway in Branson, according to Aldi’s website.
“Now, more than ever, we’re here and ready to serve and support you,” according to a statement on the website. “From fresh produce to everyday essentials, we’ll help you get what you need at the price you need.”
In previous reporting by the News-Leader, Jay Lidner with Lidner Properties and Colliers International said that Aldi signed a deal in June 2019 to buy a 2.2-acre parcel at the north tip of The Shoppes at Branson Hills. Lindner would not say what Aldi paid the seller, Branson Shoppes Group LLC.
The Branson Hills area includes a busy commercial center near the intersection of Highway 65 with Branson Hills Parkway, which property brokers say has a traffic count of more than 22,000 vehicles per day. East of Highway 65, Branson Junior High School is located near residential and business developments; to the west, Walmart, Target, Kohl’s and dozens of other retailers operate amid fast-food restaurants, apartment complexes and houses.

The company website says Aldi serves 40 million U.S. consumers with 1,900 stores in 36 states, with several thousand more in Germany and elsewhere.
Business Insider reported that Aldi recently began a push to build 800 new U.S. stores and refresh existing ones, at a cost of more than $5 billion.
