The role of an advocate or patient navigator can be just as challenging as it can be rewarding.

Anyone who has been through the cancer journey understands the difference it makes having someone in your corner through it all.

Catrina Gilstrap, a Patient Navigator with Mercy Joplin, is a resource for cancer patients from the time they receive a positive diagnosis through their treatment. As a liaison between the patient and their doctors, she develops a strong relationship with them and helps both patients and their families through tough times and decisions.

She joined us on the Morning Show to talk about her role and the difficult, yet fulfilling nature of a work day.
