Sammye Smith

Sammye L. Smith age 67 passed away Monday, October 12, 2020 at her home in Cushing, Oklahoma. She was born on June 21, 1953 in Ada, Oklahoma the daughter of Robert L. & Alice (McFerron) Stone.

She retired from being a school teacher after 29 years of service. She was a member of the 1st Christian Church of Cushing, Oklahoma. She was an avid reader, gardener and enjoyed genealogy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob & June Stone and her husband Steve Smith.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Amie Howell and her husband, Michael and Megan Smith, all of Cushing, Oklahoma, a son, Dustin Smith and his wife, Tonya, of Centerton, Arksanas, 2 brothers, Alan Stone and his wife, Robin of Bellview, Nebraska and Marty Stone and his wife Salley, of Stillwater, Oklahoma. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Garret Smith, Max Smith, Kale Smith, Jestiny Howell, Elijah Howell and Christopher Howell and several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Graveside services and interment will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the Ottawa Indian Cemetery with Pastor Jay Kindszater, officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to be made to the Karman Legacy Hospice 1311 S. Western RD Stillwater, OK 74074. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home, Miami.
