Pittsburg Salvation Army Christmas Distribution, sign up dates

CRAWFORD COUNTY, Kan. (Oct. 14) – The Salvation Army in Pittsburg serving Crawford County Kansas is gearing up for its annual Christmas Distribution for families in need.

While the Salvation Army’s long history of helping families isn’t different this year, there will be some changes due to COVID-19.

Eligible households can pre-register at Salvation Army. Each household will receive food, meat voucher, new blanket, and wrapping paper. Families with children will get toys, stocking, stocking stuffers, socks, stocking cap/gloves, stuffed animal, book, and more for each child.

Signup at the Salvation Army, 307 East 5th Street, Pittsburg. Hours are:

  • From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 2 through Friday, Nov. 6
  • From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 9 through Friday, Nov. 13
  • Extended hours to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11.

Applicants must provide at sign-up proof of residency in Crawford County, proof of household income and verification of each member in household (birth certificates or school enrollment).

Each household will receive an appointment time for curbside pickup at Salvation Army of Christmas items during the week of Dec. 14.

Donations are being accepted and volunteer opportunities are available for helping with the Christmas Distribution at the Salvation Army. Please contact Lt. Mylie Hadden at the Salvation Army at 620-231-0415 for more information.
