O’FALLON, Mo. — Residents needing to report an emergency won’t be able to get through to 911 in St. Charles County Monday morning.

The outage started at about 8 a.m., the O’Fallon Missouri Police Department reported.

Those needing to report an emergency need should call their local police department’s non-emergency line.

“We are working to find the problem, and we will update this post when the 911 lines are working again,” O’Fallon police wrote on Facebook. “Thank you for your patience while we work through this.”

At first, the police department said the lines were down in O’Fallon and then later said it’s a countywide issue.

“We are working with our neighboring agencies during this time,” police tweeted.

“Technicians are working to restore service,” the St. Charles County government page shared on Facebook.
