O’FALLON, Mo. — Residents needing to report an emergency can use 911 again in St. Charles County.

Technicians were able to fix a countywide outage after the lines went down at about 8 a.m. Service was restored by 11:45 a.m., according to the county government’s Facebook page.

“#StCharlesCounty 911 services have been restored. Thank you for your patience. The Department of Emergency Communications continues to work with technicians on identifying the cause of the outage,” the county wrote online.

While the 911 lines were down, residents were asked to call their local police department’s non-emergency lines, even if it was an emergency.
