Mary Louann Lockhart, age 74, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 10:15 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was born October 29,1945, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Ernest Rufus and Ruth Elizabeth (Knott) Dawson.

Mary was a 1963 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and a member of the 4-H Club. She attended Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. Mary worked for the TA Truck Stop in Mt. Vernon for over 30 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon.

Mary is survived by her three sons, Ryan Davis of Battlefield, Missouri, Scott Davis and his wife, Westi, of Mt. Vernon and Robert Richards II and his wife, Brandi, of Battlefield, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, MacKenzie, Olivia, Kyleigh, Andrew, Christopher, Brooklyn, Alison, Charli, Robert III, Colton and Alexander; one great-grandson, Kyler and one brother, Robert Dawson and his wife, Anna, of Strafford, Missouri.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest, and Ruth, two brothers, Gene Dawson and Edward Dawson and his wife, Judy.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with burial to follow at the Summit Cemetery northeast of Mt. Vernon. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, in the funeral home chapel.
