Junior Felton

Junior Melvin Felton, age 84, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri passed away at 12:19 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at the Mt. Vernon Place Care Center. He was born February 13, 1936, in Stone County, Missouri, the son of Earl Melvin and Winnie Armindy (Shockley) Felton.

Junior was a United States Army Veteran and a former custodian for the Lawrence County Courthouse in Mt. Vernon.

On August 28, 1965, he married Evea Essary. She preceded him in death on December 18, 1997.

Junior is survived by two grandchildren, Richard Felton of Mt. Vernon and Leann Steele and her husband, Harold, of Crane, Missouri; four great-grandchildren, Anna and Coy Felton of Mt. Vernon and Jonathon Steele and his wife, Chelsey, and Josie Dodson and her husband, Ethan, all of Crane, Missouri; three great-great grandchildren, Emery and Grayson Steele and Evie Dodson; one stepdaughter, Barb Harris of Paisley, Florida and one step-son, David McWilliams of Texas.

Junior was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Winnie, his wife, Evea, and two sons, Richard Felton, and Stan McWilliams.

A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 12, 2020, at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora, Missouri, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the Osa Cemetery.
