Metro East news: Granite City teen missing

GRANITE CITY, Ill. — Granite City police reported a missing teenager who has autism was found safe Thursday.

The 15-year-old boy was last seen Wednesday night. About 24 hours later, police said he was found.

“The Granite City Police Department has no comment on the direct circumstances surrounding the location of [the teen], nor will we divulge where he was located at. We would however like to take this opportunity to thank our community and the local media for their help in locating this young man and aiding in his safe return,” the department said in a news release late Thursday night.
