Missouri State Highway Patrol reports fatal drowning in McDonald County

MCDONALD COUNTY, Mo. – A fatal drowning took place on Elk River over Memorial Day weekend.

On Saturday, at 6:13 p.m., Missouri State Highway Patrol says 34-year-old Fredgrikas M. Hardiman of Fayetteville, Arkansas drowned after exiting his boat and getting swept downstream by a swift current.

Officials say he got caught under a log jam, and was pronounced dead on the scene.

This is Troop D’s second drowning for 2020.
