Senior living employee tests positive for COVID-19

COLUMBIA — Senior living facility The Neighborhoods by TigerPlace confirmed that an employee tested positive for COVID-19. 

The employee last worked May 4, according to a news release from the facility. The employee informed The Neighborhoods of their positive test result May 9. 

The entire community is on “in-room quarantine” until May 19, which marks 14 days since potential exposure, according to the statement. All employees are wearing personal protective equipment. 

No residents or other employees are currently experiencing symptoms, according to the statement. All residents are being checked for symptoms every four hours. Emergency contacts for each resident received a phone call and email with the news.
