Gov. Mike Parson is set to give COVID-19 updates and address Monday’s scheduled reopening of businesses across the state of Missouri during a press conference today at 3 p.m. Check back here to watch the live stream.
According to a Facebook post, the governor will be joined by officials of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and the Missouri Department of Public Safety among others.
The governor announced earlier this week that all businesses will be able to reopen starting Monday, May 4 and that restrictions on large gatherings will also come to an end.
Springfield and Green County announced a new order Thursday to start phasing out distancing measures. The order, which goes into effect Monday and lasts 21 days for Greene County and until May 31 for Springfield, allows gatherings of up to 15 people and allows most local businesses to reopen while following physical distancing and occupancy limits outlined by a formula under the order.
As of Thursday evening, April 30, Missouri had 7,562 cases of the novel coronavirus, with 329 deaths attributed to COVID-19, according to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.
