JOPLIN, Mo. — Organizers with the Joplin Memorial Run have decided to postpone the event to December 12. Citing safety, state and local stay-at-home orders due to the Coronavirus pandemic and the belief that the orders would remain in place for the coming weeks, they decided to postpone the event which was scheduled for May 16. Runners will be given the option to convert their registration and run the event virtually anytime between May 16 and December 19 if they can’t attend the event on December 12. Organizers say all virtual runners will receive the same prizes and finisher medals as those who run at the scheduled event. Those prizes will be mailed post-race between December 21 and December 31.
