A trio of former local standouts have been named to the d2football.com All-Decade team.

Pitttsburg State LB Nate Dreiling and WR John Brown join former Missouri Southern defensive lineman Brandon Williams on the All-Decade 1st team.

Brown (Bills) and Williams (Ravens) are currently playing in the NFL, while Dreiling is on the coaching staff at Oregon. Dreiling had served as the defensive coordinator at Pittsburg State before taking the job at Oregon.

At Pittsburg State, Dreiling was selected the 2011 NCAA Division II National Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore in 2011 while helping lead the Gorillas to a 13-1 record and the program’s second NCAA Division II National Championship. He set both Pitt State and MIAA records with 491 career tackles.

Brown had his best statistical season as a pro last season with Buffalo. He posted 72 catches for 1,060 yards and 6 touchdowns. The former Gorilla was a 3X All-American in college, and helped Pitt State claim the 2011 national title.

Williams was Missouri Southern’s highest NFL Draft selection when he was taken in the 3rd round of the draft in 2013. He was the 2012 national Defensive Player of the Year and was also a Division II All-American. He made his first professional start in 2014, and has started every game since.

The MIAA had the second most players on the DII All-Decade team with 9. Former Northwest Missouri State head coach Adam Dorrel was named the All-Decade head coach.
