Maya Williams led Pitt State with 19 points and 11 rebounds Saturday

PITTSBURG — The University of Central Missouri women’s basketball team wrapped up the regular season with a 72-60 road win over Pittsburg State University Saturday (Feb. 29) at John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court.

The Jennies (24-4, 18-1 MIAA) captured the 2020 MIAA regular season championship and will qualify as the top seed for the upcoming MIAA Postseason Tournament. The Gorillas finished the regular season at 17-10 overall and 13-6 in MIAA play. Pitt State will await the announcement of the tournment bracket tonight for seeding.

Megan Skaggs scored a game high 22 points to lead UCM in the win over the Gorillas. Morgan Fleming added 15 points and eight assists, while Nija Collier finished with 14 points, 14 rebounds and six blocked shots.

Maya Williams posted a double double with 19 points and 11 rebounds to leadthe Gorillas. Kaylee DaMitz added 13 points and four assists.
