A young rider engages in some horse therapy

Horses of Hope in Baxter Springs, Kansas says they’re in need of volunteers. They’ll have volunteer training sessions next week to find more.

Horses of Hope connects people with disabilities with horses as a means of therapy.

One doesn’t have to be experienced with horses or know how to work with people with disabilities to help out. Officials say the training will give you the skills you need to make a difference.

“I think a lot of it has to deal with seeing the look on the riders. Just being around to see the changes in them, it makes my heart really smile,” said volunteer Sabina Brackett.

There will be two training sessions on Wednesday, January 15th from 10 AM to noon and 5:30 PM to 7 PM
