Man shot and killed in Granite City neighborhood ID’d, 2 charged with murder

GRANITE CITY, Ill. — A man and a woman were charged Thursday, less than a day after a man was shot and killed early Thursday morning in Granite City.

At around midnight, officers were called to the 2200 block of Benton Street for shots being fired. When officers arrived, they found a man dead with gunshot wounds. He was identified as 36-year-old Jason A. Thomas.

The initial investigation led Granite City police to St. Louis. St. Louis police took two people into custody, 29-year-old Kadeem L. Noland and 34-year-old Kristine N. Mills. Thursday evening, they were each charged with murder. Noland was also charged with unlawful possession of a weapon.

Granite City police said they are not looking for any additional suspects.
