Taj Palace is a top-ranked restaurant and caterer in the Chesterfield, Missouri community, having catered an event as far as Joplin, Missouri

Chesterfield, MO (STL.News) Recently, the Top-10 Restaurants in Chesterfield, MO were published on the St Louis Restaurant Review website and republished on STL.News as well.

While preparing our notes, we ran across a name that was not familiar to us.  Therefore, we took it upon ourselves to explore and visit the location for lunch.

Taj Palace is located in Chesterfield Valley in a great location but has remained hidden among dozens of restaurants and large retail establishments.  It’s as if it gets lost among the massive facility.

We ate lunch towards the end of the lunch buffet rush.  It was still nicely stocked and clean, which says a lot about the pride the owners take in the establishment.

We did meet the owners, PJ, wife, Farhana, and son, Rana.  All are actively involved in the 10-year-old family business.  The presence of pride in the family business is easy to see.  The love and respect for each other are also apparent as well as refreshing.

Rana, the son, describes his relationship with his parents as his father is like the brother he never had, and the relationship with his mother is like the sister he never had.

In an enjoyable exchange with the owners, we learned a lot about the family, their history, and the dedication easily seen in the establishment.

In addition to the lunch buffet, they offer dine-in, carry-out, gluten-free options, vegan options, vegetarian options, great desserts, alcohol drinks, soft drinks, and catering, which has taken them as far as Joplin, Missouri, feeding as many as 600 guests and Indians make up most of their catering business and approximately 50% of their dining business.

In addition to featured in St Louis Restaurant Reviews’ Top-10 Restaurants in Chesterfield list, other relevant ratings are equally as impressive.

  • Google 4.3 Star
  • Yelp 4.5 Star
  • Facebook 4.6 Star
  • TripAdvisor 4.5 Star

However impressive these ratings are, sometimes scores fail to tell the entire story of the atmosphere and love that goes into running such a business — the hours, the personal sacrifices, and the successes that are often overlooked.

It is a small but clean, and relaxing atmosphere.

The majority of their customers are Indian.  Approximately half of their revenues come from catering, with most of the cuisines made on-site with a specially designed trailer to hold the equipment necessary to prepare these unique cuisines.

Their menu offers Dinner Specials, Soup, Beverages, Appetizers, Tandoori Bread, Tandoori Specialties, Chicken, Lamb, Seafood, Vegetables, Biryani, Goat, Egg and Side Orders with prices starting at $1.95 and peaking at $38.95 for Fish Tandoori (Chilean Sea Bass). It is marinated and broiled over mesquite in tandoor.

Taking everything into consideration, Taj Palace is a quiet hidden gem that will continue to be discovered and loved.
