Missouri News: State of Missouri Employees Encouraged to Participate in the Missouri Mentor Initiative



JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Jan. 29, 2019 – Missouri’s state employees will once again have the opportunity to participate in the Missouri Mentor Initiative (MMI), a program that allows up to 300 state employees in targeted locations to serve as mentors for one hour per week during the workweek.

Governor Mike Parson said, “By allowing our state employees to dedicate one hour of their workweek every week to this program, young lives across the state will be influenced in a positive way.”

The groundwork to revive MMI across Missouri, which involves collaboration between the State of Missouri and the mentoring organization Big Brothers Big Sisters, was put into place by First Lady Teresa Parson and Second Lady Claudia Kehoe.
