Taxes Up Slightly

ST LOUIS, MO – There was no reassessment in 2018 which means that property values did not change except in cases of new construction.  However, the tax rate charged by the various taxing districts (e.g. Public Schools, Library, City, Zoo Museum District, MSD, and others) increased between 1% and 2% for 2018.

Last year’s tax rate was $8.2756.  This year’s tax rate increased to $8.4200.

For reference, the taxes on a $100,000 residence will increase by $27.44 even though there was no change in the value.
